Brookhaven releases interactive map application
Brookhaven, GA, August 27, 2013 – Brookhaven residents and businesses will now have access to an interactive city map program online.
The Brookhaven GIS WebApp allows users to view city boundaries and districts, look up zoning and parcel numbers, and search properties by owner and house number.
Making this information easily accessible to the public will be valuable for prospective businesses considering Brookhaven, as well as residents who want to learn about new construction or zoning changes in their neighborhoods.
Brookhaven is not the first to adopt a map of this kind. Neighboring cities, including Decatur and Dunwoody, have also implemented map programs like Brookhaven’s GIS WebApp to provide information about city limits and land use.
“This map is special in that it houses all land use information that is specific to Brookhaven,” said Mike Edelson, Brookhaven’s GIS analyst.
Edelson will host a tutorial for council members tonight at the city council work session. He plans to host additional sessions for community organizations in the future.
