Brookhaven, GA, Sept. 2nd – The City of Brookhaven says it will take over Parks and Recreation from DeKalb County tomorrow, September, 3rd.
At a Press Conference held last week, Mayor J Max Davis touched on what the City will look to do in the early stages of owning Brookhaven’s 270 acres of Parks. He says that major capital improvements will come later, but that things such as the mowing of grass, cleaning/repairing washrooms, and establishing working water fountains, will be some of the first things people will notice.
“I think one of the first things that people are going to notice is that maybe the parks look a little cleaner – maybe a little more manicured where they’re supposed to be manicured. We’re going to have a more consistent and a more active maintenance program,” said Davis.
