DeKalb County, GA, August 27 – The DeKalb County Board of Registration and Elections has announced they will hold a Special Election to fill the now vacant District 1 seat on the Board of Commissioners. The seat became vacant when Commissioner Elaine Boyer resigned.
This Special Election will be held in conjunction with the November 4th General Election.
Qualifying for the Special Election will begin Monday, Sept. 8 at 8:30 a.m. and close Wednesday, Sept. 10 at noon and will be in the office of the DeKalb County Board of Registrations and Elections, 4380 Memorial Drive, Decatur, GA 30032.
The fee to qualify is $1,151.24.
Citizens registered to vote in Commission District 1 will be see this election on their ballot at the normal polling places in the District. Polls will open at 7 a.m. and close at 7 p.m.
The last day to register to be eligible to vote in this special election is October 6, 2014; if a runoff is required, it will be held on Dec. 2.
