Brookhaven, GA, July 13, 2015 – The Post Reports – Planned Parenthood Southeast Advocates announce they have endorsed Democratic Candidate Taylor Bennett in his bid to replace former State Representative Mike Jacobs in House District 80.
“The status of reproductive health in Georgia affects every family and all communities,” said Staci Fox, President and CEO of PPSEA. The health and well-being of women, children and families are in jeopardy if we do not ensure access to health care, prenatal care, contraception and family planning, disease prevention, adoption, and safe, legal abortion. We will all be stronger and healthier if we are committed to providing Georgians with the tools they need to plan for healthy families.”
“I’m very proud to have received Planned Parenthood’s endorsement,” said Bennett. “Our state must make access to health care a priority, and that healthcare must be available to each and every citizen. Moreover, women’s health issues and reproductive rights must be advocated for and protected, and I look forward to serving those interests at the state level next session.”
Bennett has also been endorsed by the Georgia Democratic Party, House Minority Leader Stacey Abrams, House Minority Whip Carolyn Hugley, State Senator Elena Parent, former State Senator and Democratic nominee for Governor Jason Carter, the Atlanta-North Georgia Labor Council, Georgia Equality, Georgia Association of Educators, Organization of DeKalb Educators, and the Georgia Sierra Club.
Bennett will be holding a constituent Q&A session this evening at Pour Bistro on Dresden Drive from 6-8pm. All interested parties are welcome to attend.
