Chamblee GA, September 18, 2015 – The Post Reports – The City of Chamblee Police Department (CPD) Crime Suppression Team conducted a joint undercover Human Trafficking Operation Thursday at a local hotel. The GBI, FBI, Gwinnett County PD, Doraville PD and Brookhaven PD all assisted.
CPD reports the operation resulted in four arrests on charges ranging from Prostitution, Interference with Custody, Possession of Marijuana Less than One Ounce, to an arrest for Human Trafficking. The offender arrested for Human Trafficking is James Darren Parsons (pictured).
In the sting, a juvenile runaway trafficking victim was rescued, recovered and returned to her home county into the custody of the agency listing her as a runaway.
“The operation was successful in its scope and tactics,” says CPD. “No officers or subjects were injured and the conduct of the operation progressed with no disruption to the public.”
The Chamblee Police Department says they plan to take an active, aggressive role in the interdiction of Human Trafficking.
CPD says they intentionally withheld the name of the hotel because the hotel was not the problem. The operation was internet based, thus they selected this location for suspected criminal activity.
