Brookhaven, GA, February 29, 2016 – The Post Reports – Brookhaven Police Detectives have arrested John Sinclair, a 29-year-old Brookhaven man, who allegedly took photographs up a woman’s skirt while she was standing in line at the Town Brookhaven Publix. He has been charged with felony Peeping Tom.
“Detectives began receiving tips shortly after this suspect’s picture was released on social media and through news outlets,” Major Brandon Gurley said in a release. “Detectives worked quickly to identify this suspect and was able to secure a warrant for Sinclair’s arrest on February 27th. Detectives have been working since the 27th to coordinate his surrender.”
Sinclair turned himself in to Detectives at the Brookhaven Police Department on Monday. He is being processed at the DeKalb County Jail.
The incident took place on February 22, 2016, at approximately 7:00 PM. Sinclair allegedly followed the female victim around the store, attempting to start a conversation with her. “While the victim waited in line to check out, she was approached by the suspect again and without her knowledge took several photos with his camera phone under the victim’s skirt,” Officer Carlos Nino told reporters.
“This case reflects the partnership between the residents of our community and our police department,” noted Interim Police Chief Juan Grullon. “Without their help and their desire to keep Brookhaven safe, this case could have remained unsolved.”
