Brookhaven, GA, March 17, 2016 – The Post Reports – Brookhaven Police Officer, Lt. Jeff Vanaman responded to a home in Lynwood Park Wednesday, after a man had fallen and broken his leg while trying to catch a swarm of bees.
Fortunately for the man, who Police found covered in bees, Officers Lt. Vanaman and Cpl. Jake Kissel are beekeepers themselves.
According to an 11Alive report, Vanaman and Kissel lifted the hive and carried it from the neighbors yard back to the homeowners yard. “It didn’t bother me,” Vanaman told 11Alive. “I felt fairly comfortable going into the bees because I knew what to expect.” He said fellow Officer Kissel introduced him to beekeeping last year.
According to Police, the Brookhaven man was taken to a local hospital for his leg injury and the bees are back where they belong.
