Brookhaven, GA, May 6, 2016 – by Trey Benton – The City of Brookhaven says that beginning today, May 6th, TerraMark Land Surveying crews will begin work to survey Brookhaven’s parks. These “Field Run Surveys” are the first step in moving toward implementation of the City’s Site Specific Park and Recreation Master Plan.
According to the City, crews will begin in Clack’s Corner, Georgian Hills, Lynwood Park and Fernwood Park and their work will continue over the next several weeks.
“All field personnel will be wearing TerraMark shirts and TerraMark safety vests at all times,” says Communications Manager Ann Marie Quill. “If citizens have any questions, feel free to contact the Brookhaven Parks & Recreation Department at (404) 637-0562.”
Brookhaven’s City Council unanimously awarded the $212,500 surveying contract to TerraMark last month. The scope of work consists of doing all field work and office work necessary to furnish an accurate property boundary, topographic, above and below ground utilities and existing conditions plan for each of the twelve (12) parks listed below.
For each park, drawings of the survey will be produced that designate property lines, buildings, contours, walls, utilities and other boundaries and physical objects on each site. The drawings will include contour lines and land topography. TerraMark will locate all utilities above and below ground, and the related accompanying items such as telephone poles, catch basins, drain inlets, manholes guywires, fire and police call boxes, and indicate ownership.
In addition, TerraMark will locate all above-and below-grade fiber optic, electric, telephone lines, and associated monuments, as well as all above-and below-grade water, sewer and gas lines, valve boxes, meter boxes, hydrants, tanks, etc., within the parks. There will also be a tree canopy density survey included.
