Chamblee, GA, May 13, 2016 – The Post Reports – Three Chamblee businesses were consumed by fire Thursday morning at 5736 New Peachtree Road, a fire that quickly elevated to a two-alarm. DeKalb County Fire and Rescue Captain Eric Jackson said there was no one inside when the blaze broke out, although a few firefighters suffered minor exhaustion and one of the 50 firefighters who worked the blaze was taken to a local hospital with a minor shoulder injury.
Jackson said there were some explosions inside the building, believed to be some of the equipment and machinery used by the businesses.
Brookhaven’s Ronnie Mayer, who owns R. Mayer towing, used his tow truck to block the road while he waited for Police officers to arrive and take over.
The cause of the fire is still undetermined.
