Brookhaven, GA, May 16, 2016 – Commentary, by Joan Dillon – Why Trump? He is a man we need and one whose time has come, if Americans truly want this country to survive. They majority of Americans love this country, are proud of its history, and make no apologies for it. The current administration and leftist leaning “progressive” have only themselves to blame for the popularity and emergence of Trump as our next leader.
Under the Obama administration economy has taken a beating, with massive unemployment, and a limping recovering entailing part-time jobs. Government figures on unemployment, at 5 1/2% are deceptive, because the real unemployment figure is over 40%, and for blacks and other minorities it is generally higher. There has been no real increase in private industry wages in years while pay for local and federal government workers has substantially outpaced that of private industry. Our corporations are fleeing this country due to high tax rates, increasing pressure of minimum wage hikes and over regulation.
Income to the government from tax revenues is at an all time high, yet Obama has added more debt to this country than the last 43 presidents combined.
Both federal and state Democrat controlled governments have tried to mandate every aspect of our personal, as well as our financial lives. They have placed great emphasis on transgender issues, tried to limit our access to 32 ounce soft drinks, demand we take part in gay marriage ceremonies by providing services antithetical to our closely held beliefs or get out of business.
He wants to close our borders. Without borders we are not a country. We are amorphous. There is nothing wrong with not allowing entry without clear documentation, particularly in a world that has seen doing so can lead to terrorism. The dramatic cultural shifts and oppressive costs of doing so are becoming clearly apparent to those European countries who have been lax.
Americans have a history of rebelling against oppression. We have been increasingly oppressed by this administration for the last several years and are ready for a fight. For the leader of this fight we have chosen Trump. He is a man who has shown when hit, he will not whine, but will fight back and hit harder. He has had more hurdles thrown at him than any other person running for office in the country, and he has jumped them all. He is in the process of dismantling the old boy network of Washington, and the career politicians there are scared to death of him. He will upset their personal pipelines to their lobbyists.
He speaks with only pencilled notes, because he tells the truth and does it with passion. His love of country is apparent. He has a genius for hiring people qualified to do their jobs, rather than patronage people, career politicians, and academicians.
While leftists, liberals, progressives have tried to vilify him by name calling, and demeaning his personal life, (while, unfortunately 3 marriages is becoming more the norm than not in this country) they overlook the fact that he has raised four decent, polite, well educated children that know him well and think the world of their father (nothing to be sniffed at in this day and age).
In sum, this is why Trump.
