Brookhaven, GA, June 10, 2016 – The Post Reports – Brandon Barabino turned himself in to Police around 1:30 PM on Friday and is being held in DeKalb County Jail on charges of aggravated assault against an officer. Barabino opened fire on Brookhaven Police Officer Lonnie Napier Tuesday night, striking the Officer’s Police cruiser in the rear drivers side window, just inches away from the Officer’s head.
Officer Napier was doing paperwork in his cruiser near in the 2500 block of Briarcliff Road, when a person came up to him and reported he had been robbed behind the Village at Druid Hills shopping center.
Upon arriving at the scene, Officer Napier encountered the victim who said the robber fled to a nearby apartment complex. Officer Napier encountered a Black Mustang that was attempting to pull away from the apartment complex. Suspicious of the driver after a face-to-face conversation, Officer Napier attempted to get the tag of the vehicle when the driver fired into the rear window of the Police cruiser. “He almost got me,” Officer Napier told CBS46.
