Chamblee, GA, November 15, 2016 – The Post Reports, Contributed – The holidays are often the busiest times for fire and police departments so many of them must work on the days normally reserved for time with family. The Dresden East Civic Association (DECA) and Clairmont Terrace neighborhoods are once again raising funds to ensure area firefighters and police officers have meals on Thanksgiving and Christmas.
This is the third consecutive year for this fundraiser – last year the effort raised over $1500 to purchase meals for the Clairmont, Dresden, PDK and Mercer fire stations along with the Chamblee and Doraville police departments.
According to the organizer, Charlotte-Ann Rogers, “this is a great way for the community to show their gratitude to our local first responders. They go above and beyond every day for our neighborhoods so we hope to go above and beyond for them during the holidays.”
The goal for this year is $1400. As of November 13, they had raise $360 so they need a big push during the last week of the drive. Those interested in donating can click on the link below to donate.
