Brookhaven, GA, December 2, 2016 – The Post Reports – The Brookhaven Police Department is reporting that Habibah Dixon, a 43 year old Brookhaven female, has been charged with a city ordinance violation of providing false information to police after reporting that her yorkie was taken from her last month while she was out on a walk.
According to Police, Dixon reported that a male suspect wearing skinny jeans and a dark hoodie had picked up her dog and ran away as she gave chase.
“Brookhaven Police detectives have spent many investigative hours since this November 25th report attempting to identify and locate this suspect,” Major Brandon Gurley said in a Friday release. “Today, they have learned that the information provided by Dixon to police was false. There was no suspect that had taken and ran away with her yorkie.”
During their investigation, Detectives found that Dixon’s yorkie ran off during one of her walks. Witnesses confirmed that they saw Dixon’s yorkie running in and out of traffic on Clairmont Road. “It is believed that someone may have stopped to pick up the yorkie to keep her from getting hit,” Police say.
The dog’s name is “Blondie” and is described as a female, blonde yorkie. “Blondie” is also microchipped. Anyone with information about this lost dog may contact Brookhaven Police at 404-637-0600.
