Brookhaven, GA, January 5, 2017 – by Trey Benton – The City of Brookhaven Public Works Department says they are prepared to treat streets and bridges in the event winter weather were to hit the City. According to the City, staff monitors weather and street conditions and if needed they will deploy City Contractor RoadWorx, to implement a Snow and Ice Removal Plan.
The contractors will be in place to start treating roads and bridges, and will monitor conditions as they progress. Citizens should report issues to Brookhaven Connect and report emergencies to 911.
So the City is prepared, but are you?
With the talk of the potential of winter weather in North Georgia moving in late this week or over the weekend – perhaps a taste of it slipping down into our area – it is a good time to remind commuters that creating a “Ready Kit” to keep in the car is a very good idea.
Ready Georgia, a statewide campaign supported by the Georgia Emergency Management Agency (GEMA) aimed at motivating Georgians to take action to prepare for a disaster, has created a list of suggested items you may want to consider when making your own specialized “Ready Kit.”
