Chamblee, GA, January 1, 2017 – The Post Reports – Chamblee Police Department is reporting they have arrested 31 year old Dorian Bennett of Decatur, after beefing up patrols due a rash of recent burglaries in the Dresden East Civic Association (DECA) area. Bennett is charged with multiple felonies (fleeing and eluding, DUI, obstruction, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, possession of crack and powder cocaine, mushrooms, etc.).
On January 31, 2017, Police say they observed Bennett near Plaster Road driving erratically and initiated a traffic stop where she initially stopped. An soon as the officer approached her window she sped off, only to be stuck at a red light at the corner of the I-85 SB access road and Shallowford Road. Officers blocked the vehicle and made the arrest.
While searching Bennett’s vehicle, Officers recovered a handgun, drugs and drug paraphernalia. Bennett is a convicted felon. She is being held in the DeKalb County Jail.
