Chamblee, GA, March 21, 2017 – The Post Reports – The Chamblee Middle School Education Foundation (CMSEF) is proud to recognize Ed Voyles Automotive as the Presenting Sponsor of the 2017 Chamblee Fun Mud Run. Ed Voyles became a driving force for the Chamblee Fun Mud Run for the third year in a row, when the company presented the CMSEF with $10,000.00 to support the 5K mud and obstacle run that takes place Saturday, April 29, 2017.
“We are thrilled and grateful to have Ed Voyles Automotive return as the presenting sponsor for our second annual Chamblee Fun Mud Run,” said CMS Foundation President Jennifer Kovacich. “The company has been a supporter of the event since day one and their generosity has enabled us to produce a quality, community event that raises funds for equipment and programs that will enhance the quality of education for our children at Chamblee Middle School for years to come.”
“Corporate responsibility and giving back to the communities where we live and work is a large part of the Voyle’s culture,” said Valery Voyles, Chairman and CEO of Ed Voyles. “We believe education is the foundation of our future, and is the key to a better, stronger America.”
Building on the astounding success of the first two events, 1,500 participants are expected for the 2017 Mud Run, with a goal of raising more than $50,000. This will put the total funds raised above the $100,000 mark in just three years from the Chamblee Fun Mud Run.
Providing a unique spin on the traditional 5K, Chamblee Fun Mud Run participants will run, crawl and climb over natural and man-made obstacles along the route which includes two mud pits, a quick-feet tire obstacle, cargo nets, wall climbs, and Serpentine Hill. Water features are also featured on the course and will ensure everyone is wet and a little less muddy by the race’s end. The Chamblee Fun Mud Run is open to the community and is recommended for children ages 8 and up, as well as older kids and adults of all abilities. The race begins and ends at Chamblee Middle School (3601 Sexton Woods Dr., Chamblee, GA 30341), and winds through the Keswick Village and Sexton Woods neighborhoods, with obstacles featured throughout Keswick Park.
The 5K is a timed event. Participants receive a mud and water-proof ankle tag in their race bags. There is a 3K (approx. 2 mile) Muddy Buddy race immediately following the Chamblee Fun Mud Run, recommended for kids ages 5-7 who are accompanied by an adult. Participants will complete the mud obstacles, but will run a shorter course.
Registration through March 31 is $30 for the 5K and $25 for the Muddy Buddy. Registration starting April 1 is $35 for the 5K and $30 for the Muddy Buddy.
