Worthing filed their applications with the City back in January. In early March, Planning Commissioners voted 5-2 to recommend City Council deny those applications.
“I believe in this case the applicant has heard very clearly the will of the community,” Councilman Bates Mattison said. “I am glad that we don’t have to go through a protracted process that is causing such opposition in the community.”
Council approved the rezoning application withdrawal and a withdrawal without prejudice of the application for a Special Land Use Permit in a unanimous vote.
