Brookhaven, GA, May 9, 2017 – by Trey Benton – Brookhaven Councilmembers approved a $343,529.52 contract Tuesday, a Phase 1 contract with Blount Construction to relieve street drainage issues along Osborne Road, from Grove Street to Kendrick Drive.
“The sheet flow and subsequent flooding conditions on Osborne Road have degraded significantly with each passing year due to increased development on Peachtree Road and rebuilds of single family residences along the Osborne Road corridor,” says the City. “A Stormwater Analysis Report was completed June 2015 which outlined recommendations for addressing the flooding issues in this area.”
Blount Construction was the lowest bidder between three of the City’s “On-Call” contractors. GS Construction’s bid was $463,706.45 and Integrated Construction & Nobility, that has been busy installing 3 bridges in the City, came in more than double Blount’s bid at $700,999.92.
The City indicates the project will be funded out of the Stormwater Fund.
