Brookhaven, GA, May 28, 2017 – by Trey Benton – Town Brookhaven was partially evacuated Sunday afternoon after a salon received a threatening fax demanding they turn over their cash. According to Brookhaven Police Department’s (BPD) Major Brandon Gurley, the fax also threatened the business with an explosive device.
In an abundance of caution, BPD closed off part of the mixed-use development and proceeded to sweep the area with the assistance of bomb-sniffing dogs from the MARTA and DeKalb County Police.
According to Police, several businesses were cleared and the threat was deemed to be not credible. Town Brookhaven area is back open for business.
