Chamblee, GA, August 17, 2017 – The Post Reports – The City of Chamblee is working on a project to develop the Peachtree Road Streetscape design that will determine the best solutions for roadway, sidewalk and other amenities along the Peachtree Road corridor in the heart of downtown Chamblee, along with the extensions of the Chamblee Rail Trail.
Please join us on Thursday, September 7th from 5:30-8:30 p.m. for the Mid-City Stroll — this will be an open house format with stops along the corridor for opportunities to mingle and comment on the initial concept designs. To participate in the full Mid-City Stroll, please plan to arrive no later than 7:30 p.m.
Parking is available at Senior Connections, located at 5238 Peachtree Road, or get $5 off to the starting location with Uber code EKXQFML. A welcome tent will be located at Hello Gorgeous, 3400 Malone Drive, where the walk begins. Following along the Mid-City Stroll route, participants can observe the streetscape and Rail Trail concepts with temporary installments of streetscape elements that improve the pedestrian experience along the corridor and increase activity downtown. Opportunities to express opinions about the installments along the way are available.
Mid-City Stroll tour guides will be waiting to present concepts at each location. Chances to participate in the design of Chamblee’s downtown through a series of activities are available at each downtown Chamblee business participating in the Stroll. Children are welcome; there will be activities and giveaways for the whole family. Stay in downtown Chamblee after the Stroll for dinner or to watch the first NFL football game of the season, where the Patriots host the Chiefs. We can’t wait to see you there!
The rain date is Thursday, September 21st from 5:30-8:30 p.m. There are several ways to participate in the project. Please watch our website, www.chambleega.gov, for more information. Other ways to participate in this process include this survey: https://chamblee.typeform.com/to/JWyHdV.
